Introduction

ETHANOL ENERGY a.s. was launched on 5 June 2006. The company was founded to produce bioethanol, which is to be blended with automobile petrol. The plant can furthermore produce the so-called clean alternative fuels. The annual capacity of the plant is 57 000 tons of biethanol.

The site was constructed in the town Vrdy near Caslav (Stredocesky kraj), 12 km eastward of Kutna Hora. Logistically beneficial location thanks to the main road Caslav- Chrudim. The site possesses its own railway tracks.

As renewable fuels, biofuels produce environmental benefits over mineral-derived transportation fuels. They help to reduce overall emissions of greenhouse gases and other tail-pipe air pollutants and are a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels.
